A Year of Growth and Exploration

2023 has been a year of growth and exploration for Pride Foundation as we continue to evolve to meet the challenges facing LGBTQ+ communities across the Northwest. As we prepare for the year ahead, we hope the highlights featured in this Year In Review ground you in the hope and strength of all we’re able to accomplish together.

Please support our work in 2024 and beyond by making a gift today.

We moved $2.12 million in grants to 124 organizations!
This year, one of our grantmaking programs, our Community Care Fund began prioritizing queer and trans organizations that are BIPOC-led and focused organizations in rural communities. We’re working to change the pattern of rural communities having limited and inequitable access to institutional support and making sure to we’re meeting the needs of our entire region. These grants are allowing grantee partners to hire staff, sustain and increase their offerings, and strengthen their ability to respond to community needs.

We awarded $759,600 in scholarships to 113 student leaders!
In partnership with our scholarship fundholders, we have awarded the greatest total scholarship dollars in Pride Foundation history! As rising costs continue to make higher education out of reach for many, we are helping student leaders access education and further their dreams. This year, we hosted two scholarship celebrations to highlight the past few years of incredible scholars and the impact they are having in their communities across the region.

We welcomed our inaugural TRANSform Culture fellowship cohort!
Our TRANSform Culture Program is our unapologetic commitment to centering and sustaining Transgender+ individuals and communities. Through this fellowship program, Pride Foundation supports the leadership of 10 BIPOC Transgender, Nonbinary, Intersex, and Two-Spirit Northwesterners. During the year, fellows learn and practice narrative justice skills, participate in story collection and story sharing events, and build community with other Transgender+ Northwesterners. So far, the fellows have worked together to gather and share over 25+ hours of narrative!

Thank you for working alongside us to make deeper investments in grantees, student leaders, and LGBTQ+ communities around the Northwest.
