Announcing Our 2019-20 Community Grants: Another Record-Breaking Year!

Long before I rejoined Pride Foundation as the Director of Programs, our staff, volunteers, and community members from around the region were hard at work reviewing grant applications.

Because of your incredible support, I am excited that one of my first acts in this role is to announce that Pride Foundation is making another record-breaking investment this year through our Community Grants Program!

Today, I’m thrilled to share that we are awarding $557,000 to 108 organizations across the Northwest—the most grants and the largest total amount we have ever awarded through our Community Grants program in the history of Pride Foundation.

Since 1985, we have used every tool at our disposal to build a better, safer, and more inclusive world for LGBTQ+ people and our families. Our Community Grants Program continues to be a critical source of support for organizations who are working to do just that.

These grantees’ work ranges from providing direct services, to legal support, to making healthcare accessible, and more—and their efforts center those most impacted by injustice, particularly communities of color, Native and indigenous communities, immigrants and refugees, trans and gender diverse communities, youth, elders, and rural communities.

We are so grateful for the work of these grantees and of all the applicants to our Community Grants program. They are propelling our movements for justice forward and doing so much every day to build a world where LGBTQ+ people and our families can live safely and openly as our whole selves in all the communities we call home. We deeply appreciate all their efforts.

We hope you take a moment to read more about the incredible work these grantees are doing across the Northwest!

Our Community Grants Program is only possible because of the generosity of resources, time, and dedication of our supporters, volunteers, and community partners like you. I am honored and incredibly grateful to begin this role, surrounded by a community so committed to fueling equity and justice in every corner of this region.

We hope you will join us at one of our Gratitude Celebrations to celebrate all we have accomplished together this year, and to honor these incredible organizations in their work ahead.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Jeremiah J. Allen is Pride Foundation’s Director of Programs.
