3 Cool Things: Pride Month Celebrations, Tend Seattle, and Katie’s magazine feature!

As we look back on an exciting Pride Month, we’re filled with gratitude for our incredible community and the support you’ve shown throughout the month and beyond. June featured a whirlwind of amazing events and milestones for us at Pride Foundation, and we’re thrilled to share three exciting highlights that made this month truly special!

 

Tend Seattle was a phenomenal success! We gathered with our incredible community to celebrate and support LGBTQ+ people across the Northwest and thanks to your generosity, we raised over $100,000! The energy and support from our community were truly inspiring, and we can’t wait to continue this journey in Anchorage this Friday! 
 
We celebrated Pride Month! We’re so grateful for all of the love and support we received throughout the month of June. From soccer games to fundraisers, our community showed up and showed out all month long. Shoutout to the team and staff at PwC who hosted a special spin class raising $800 to benefit Pride Foundation — thank you for your energy and support! Lastly, as June came to a close, I was honored to be invited to speak at the 30th anniversary for Seattle Pride Dyke March and Rally. This event is a cornerstone of Seattle Pride and was an inspiring way to wrap up Pride Month!

Katie was featured in GO Magazine! We’re excited to announce that our CEO, Katie Carter, has been featured in GO Magazine’s “100 Women We Love, Class of 2024“! Since launching in 2001, the legendary list has featured nearly 2,000 trailblazing queer women including political figures, artists, athletes, musicians, scholars, entrepreneurs, scientists, motivational speakers, and more. This recognition celebrates Katie’s achievements, contributions, and service as a role model for LGBTQ+ women everywhere. As we reflect on the incredible moments of the past month, we are also deeply aware of the stress and anxiety that accompanies our current political climate. It’s during these uncertain times that our community’s strength and solidarity are more important than ever.

Leaning into our community and celebrating small wins helps us stay resilient and hopeful. Together, we will continue to create spaces for joy, support, and empowerment for all LGBTQ+ individuals across the Northwest. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
