We’re excited to announce our 2026 Pride Foundation Scholars! This year, we’re awarding $1,032,500 in scholarships to 121 student leaders across Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington — marking the first time in Pride Foundation’s history that we’ve exceeded $1 million in scholarship awards.
For more than 30 years, Pride Foundation’s scholarship program has invested in LGBTQ+ students across the Northwest, awarding more than $11 million to 2,792 scholars. This year’s scholars are pursuing degrees in fields ranging from nursing and education to public policy, journalism, forest management, and Indigenous studies. Beyond their chosen areas of study, scholars are leaders in their families, schools, workplaces, and communities.
Our scholars reflect the diversity and strength of LGBTQ+ communities across our region. Seventy-two percent identify as trans, nonbinary, or gender diverse. Seventy-three percent are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color. More than half come from rural communities, and nearly eight in ten have experienced housing instability, poverty, or limited financial support.
This announcement comes at a time when the realities shaping LGBTQ+ students’ access to education continue to evolve. Demand for scholarship support remains high, and for many applicants, a scholarship is more than financial assistance — it can be the difference between continuing their education or putting their goals on hold.
That’s why Pride Foundation continues to invest not only in scholarships, but in broader support for students through initiatives like the Scholar Support Fund, skill-building workshops, networking opportunities, and community-building programs.
When we invest in LGBTQ+ students, we’re investing in future educators, healthcare workers, advocates, artists, researchers, and community leaders. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and scholarship fundholders, that investment continues to grow year after year.
