Building Relationships to Support Community: Our Fall LGBTQ+ Health Convening

Last week, we were thrilled to host a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Region 10 LGBTQ+ Health Convening. A massive thank you to our partners at HHS, and all of the community organizations and leaders who were able to participate!

Here are a few post-convening follow-up resources:

The goal of the convening was to create a 2-way channel of communication, foster relationships between HHS leaders and LGBTQ+ communities, and build the knowledge base about HHS funding, policies, and initiatives that impact LGBTQ+ communities.

More than 175 participants joined for a robust conversation about key topics including:

  • Gender Affirming Care
  • Monkeypox Virus
  • LGBTQ+ Mental Health and Wellness
  • LGBTQ+ Youth
  • LGBTQ+ Older Adults

We were excited about the turnout for this event, and know that many others who were interested weren’t able to join us due to scheduling conflicts. Know that this convening was just the beginning of key connections and relationship building, and HHS is looking forward to continuing this work to support LGBTQ+ communities alongside your organizations. You can expect additional follow up and ways to get engaged with HHS soon.
