August Pride Insider: Community Care + Karaoke + Trans Bill of Rights

As these August mornings cool down, and we find ourselves approaching fall, I’m having some deja vu.

So many of my emails to you over the past two years have begun with “we’re all holding a lot right now.”  Between Monkeypox’s (MPV) growing impact on our communities, the continued effects of the pandemic, economic instability, and political turmoil nationally and globally—this is still very much the case. A small consolation is that, with how much we are holding, our muscles are clearly getting very strong by now.

We hope you’re finding opportunities to rest, to unload, and to take a real break in these waning days of summer. I have no doubt we will all continue to hold so much in the coming months, and here’s hoping we can all have a chance to give these muscles a break so we can continue on.
