I don’t have to tell you that Oregon and SW Washington are a very special region within the Northwest. The community of LGBTQ people and organizations is vibrant, growing, and innovative. The philanthropic sector is robust and engaged.
These factors, among others, have made it a meaningful place for Pride Foundation to be engaged in helping bring lived and legal equality to all LGBTQ people and their families.
With even more opportunities emerging, I am pleased to announce that we are expanding our capacity and staff team in Oregon and SW Washington.
To start, we’ve created a new position, Director of Strategic Partnerships, which will help us to ensure that all of the different pieces of our work are more holistically tied together.
Katie Carter, our Regional Development Organizer in Oregon and SW Washington for over two years, is being promoted to this position.
At the same time, Kim Sogge, our Regional Philanthropy Fellow through the Momentum Fellowship program for the past nine months, is being promoted to the Regional Development Organizer position.
Kim and Katie will work together to continue deepening Pride Foundation’s work in Oregon and SW Washington by fostering local relationships with constituents, donors, grantees, scholars, funders, community members, and volunteers.
Both Katie and Kim will be based in Portland, and their work will continue to take them across Oregon and SW Washington. Going forward, you can contact either of them, and they’ll make sure to get you connected to the right person.
Like with all of Pride Foundation’s work, theirs will continue to be collaborative as they grow our capacity to achieve full equality for LGBTQ people in Oregon and SW Washington.
I hope you are as excited about these new developments as we are. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Katie, Kim, or myself if you have any questions.
We look forward to continuing to work together to support LGBTQ people, communities, organizations, and philanthropy in Oregon and across the region.
