In the face of tragedy and loss

Today, our community mourns after the tragic violence in Orlando.

Our hearts are filled with sorrow, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends who lost their loved ones.

It is in these moments that we must draw on the strength of our community and our movement—resisting the urge to respond with fear, prejudice, and a call to build walls. Instead, we must look to our reservoir of resilience and respond with love by building bridges across our differences.

In the face of this incredible tide of hate and violence toward our LGBTQ community, we cannot accept that this is what we are destined to become. We must continue to believe in a safer, kinder, more beautiful, and better world for all.

If you are in the Seattle area, please join us for a vigil in Cal Anderson Park at 8:00pm tonight.

In sadness and solidarity,
Kris and the Pride Foundation Staff
