Help Oregon Win the Freedom to Marry for All

This past Monday, our colleagues at Basic Rights Oregon announced the formation of Oregon United for Marriage, a group created to unite individuals and organizations who will work together to win the freedom to marry for same-sex couples in Oregon.

On Valentine’s Day, join Oregon United for Marriage at community events across the state, to show support for love, commitment, and the freedom to marry. Be among the first Oregonians to officially sign the petition for a November 2014 ballot measure! RSVP to these community events at www.OregonUnitedforMarriage.org.

“Now is the time to expand this conversation to unite Oregon in support of the freedom to marry,” said Basic Rights Oregon Executive Director Jeana Frazzini. “We have built a movement in Oregon that lifts up the courage and diversity of our community. We have a lot of work ahead of us and we need everyone to do their part.”

With recent wins for marriage in Maine, Maryland, and Washington, and President Obama’s vocal support, now is the time for Oregon to build on the momentum to ensure all loving and committed same-sex couples have the opportunity to marry the person they love.

Together, we will make history! Oregon can become the first state in the nation to affirm the freedom to marry in our state constitution. To get involved, RSVP for a Valentine’s Day event, sign up for updates from Oregon United for Marriage, or become of fan on their Facebook Page.
