Steve is the Community Engagement Officer for Pride Foundation, living and working in Idaho. He joined Pride Foundation in 2010 after a 20-year career as a newspaper journalist, and several years as a Pride Foundation volunteer helping review scholarship applications. He has dedicated most of his adult life to social justice advocacy, and volunteered for many LGBTQ+ organizations and events in Idaho, including chairing The LGBTQ+ Community Center, organizing activities related to Boise’s annual Pride celebration, and leading an LGBTQ+ theater troupe.
Steve has a bachelor’s degree in English and writing and he shares his life with his husband, Jim. When he’s not on the front lines advocating for LGBTQ+ equality, Steve can often be found on a community theater stage, where he has performed in more than 40 plays since 1997.
