Joshua is an enrolled member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians and is deeply committed to ensuring access to health and wellness resources for Native American and Alaska Native peoples. With decades of experience advocating for Tribal health and wellness issues, he works to support quality care for Native communities. A long-time Alaskan, he recently relocated to Oregon.
He began a new role in January 2025 focused on developing a Native children and youth initiative that connects Native communities with strategic public financing tools.
Previously, Joshua served in senior leadership and governance support roles within Tribal organizations and initiatives, overseeing governance functions and working closely with affiliated entities. He has also supported national efforts focused on Native children, traveling across the country to learn directly from Native communities about effective practices and opportunities for improvement. This work contributed to a formal report outlining solutions to better address the needs of Indigenous peoples in the United States, as well as education and advocacy efforts with federal agencies.
Joshua dedicated nearly 20 years to an Alaska Native health organization, serving in a variety of roles. In his final position, he led planning and execution for a comprehensive fundraising program across private and public sectors, building and sustaining relationships with private, state, and federal funding partners. He has also presented nationally and internationally on relationship-based models of care.
In 2023, he received national recognition for his leadership and service advancing American Indian and Alaska Native health.
