Lora Volkert is a software developer and former journalist in Boise, Idaho. She has worked the last 12 years in the tech industry at Clearwater Analytics, a fintech company, and at her current position at Healthwise, a not-for-profit organization that creates medical and wellness content. She specializes in testing automation and web accessibility. Prior to going back to school for computer science, Lora was a journalist at the Idaho Press-Tribune and the Idaho Business Review, where she focused on the business, technology, and construction and development beats.

Lora is a bisexual cisgendered woman. She has volunteered for Pride Foundation since 2012, first as a scholarship and grant reviewer, and then as a member of the Idaho Leadership Action Team. She created the Friends of Alan Turing scholarship fund for LGBTQIA+ STEM students.

In her spare time, Lora runs sound and lights for Boise-area community theaters. Her other creative projects include writing a script for a graphic novel about the Fair Pocatello campaign to pass a nondiscrimination ordinance protecting LGBTQ+ residents of Pocatello, Idaho, and keep it on the books when it was placed on the ballot for repeal. Lora lives with her two dogs, Docker and Kubernetes.
