Nancy Haque is driven by a passion for making the world a better place, a belief in the ability of people to make positive social change and an understanding that how we treat each other in the work matters just as much as the outcome.

The daughter of immigrants from Bangladesh, Nancy never wanted to be a doctor or an engineer but instead wanted to change the system that made her dad work two full-time jobs to pay the bills. At age 14, she attended the March for Women’s Lives and it forever changed her understanding of reproductive justice. She started her career working to advance economic justice and that remains a lens through which she views the world and her work.

Currently, she is the Director of Policy and Programs at Meyer Memorial Trust, where she has also held the title of Gender Justice Program Officer. Prior to joining Meyer, Nancy was the executive director of Basic Rights Oregon, an LGBTQ policy and advocacy organization. Before that she was the Building Political Power Director at Western States Center. She also worked as a national field organizer for Jobs with Justice and as a program specialist at the AFL-CIO. She has a passion for policy change and civic engagement and holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy. She lives in SE Portland with her son and many partially completed craft projects.
