C. Nathan Harris (he/him/his) is a social justice leader with 17 years in philanthropic development, working at the intersection of love and generosity to realize positive, transformational change. He currently serves as Director of Community Philanthropy at Oregon Food Bank, leading a team of 30+ incredible human beings to resource an end hunger and hunger’s root causes in Oregon and SW Washington by crafting winning partnerships with philanthropic stakeholders.
Prior to Oregon Food Bank, Nathan served as Chief Development Officer at Freedom for All Americans to secure nationwide LGBTQ nondiscrimination protections. Nathan also served ACLU of Northern California as Director of Leadership Gifts & Centennial Campaign – an historic resource mobilization initiative for civil rights and civil liberties at the largest affiliate in ACLU’s nationwide enterprise. As Director of Advancement at Transgender Law Center, he achieved break-through results by partnering with supporters to shatter the glass ceiling on individual-donor philanthropy to trans-led, trans-specific nonprofits and expand legal protections domestically for trangender and gender nonconforming communities. He has also served as Director of Individual Giving at SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders) and Center on Halsted (Chicago’s LGBTQ community center).
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Nathan has been in a long-term, committed relationship with Pride Foundation since receiving scholarship support during his undergraduate education. He now resides in Portland, OR with his husband Alan Francisco-Tipgos and their three dogs, Fitz, Beni, and Mr. Smee.
