The Whidbey Giving Circle (WGC), a fund of Pride Foundation, invests in organizations that support the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community on Whidbey Island.

Since its founding in 2007, we have quietly awarded nearly $64,000 in grants and $33,500 in scholarships to organizations and individuals across Whidbey Island, with a focus on supporting residents in our community.

Over the years, the Whidbey Giving Circle’s impact has expanded to create lasting change. Before Whidbey Giving Circle support, there were no gay/straight alliance (GSA) clubs at any of the island’s three high schools. Today, all three high schools have active GSA groups, thanks to funding provided by WGC.

In addition, grants from the Whidbey Giving Circle have provided resources for homeless LGBTQ youth programs, funded successful anti-bullying campaigns in schools, and sponsored LGBTQ proms at two of the high schools. Our scholarship funds have been awarded to LGBTQ students from across Whidbey Island to pursue a variety of careers.

With your financial support, Whidbey Giving Circle can continue to focus resources on ensuring that all Whidbey Island residents can live safely, openly, and genuinely.

Thank you for considering a gift to the Whidbey Giving Circle and investing in the growing, yet often invisible and vulnerable, LGBTQ community on the island. Donations made through this page are tax-deductible. Contributions will be held by Pride Foundation and go directly to WGC to continue our good work.
